The Considerate Constructors Scheme is a not-for-profit organisation founded by the construction industry to improve its image. The Scheme monitors construction activity across the UK and Ireland, scoring registered sites, companies and suppliers against a Code of Considerate Practice. The overall principles of the Scheme are to form a voluntary scheme founded on encouragement, carry out inspections of registered sites and report on and mark them against key areas listed in a Code of Considerate Practice, and reward the best performing sites. The Scheme aims to improve the image of construction by presenting a positive image of competent management, efficiency, awareness of environmental issues and above all neighbourliness
What does considerate construction mean for you and your community?
The Considerate Constructors Scheme promotes high standards and accountability within the construction industry. It is a voluntary scheme, meaning that Scheme-registered contractors and organisations are actively trying to improve the way they work, by raising their standards in being more considerate to communities, the environment and their own workforce.
Registered activity
All Scheme-registered activity must follow the Code of Considerate Practice and is visited by an independent Monitor who scores their performance and addresses non-conformance. We aim to help the construction industry be more considerate so that your experience when construction activity is happening around you, as a member of the public or workforce, is better.
